Which comedian did Judd Apatow tell the L.A. Times he thinks is hysterically funny?  What entertainer starred in Target’s Black Friday ad campaign three years in a row?  Whose cult hit web series is being displayed at the Museum of Art and Design in New York?  Which comic’s CD was named one of the best comedy albums of the year by Amazon.com and one of the best comedy albums of the decade by The AV Club?  Maria Bamford!  That’s Who!

Maria started her performing arts career in Duluth, Minnesota at the age of 11 where she starred in the Chester Park Elementary production of How the West Was REALLY Won!  A short 29 years of self-discovery and secretarial work later and look at her now!  Maria is the first female comic to have two half-hour Comedy Central Presents specials.  She starred in the Comedy Central series, The Comedians of Comedy and Netflix’s Comedians of Comedy: The Movie.  She has made multiple late-night appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Kimmel Live, as well as not-so-late appearances on John Oliver’s New York Stand Up Show, Premium Blend, Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn and The World Comedy Tour: Melbourne 2003.  Maria has guest starred on Louie (fX), and The Sarah Silverman Program (Comedy Central) and has recurring roles on the re-booted Arrested Development (Netflix), Tim & Eric: Awesome Show and Check It Out (both Adult Swim).

Maria currently contributes comedic voiceovers for such animations as Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time, fX’s Unsupervised, Disney Channel’s Kick Buttowski, Nickelodeon’s Legend of Korra and Kung Fu Panda, PBS’s Emmy-winning series Word Girl and the upcoming Tight Bros for Adult Swim.  She was also a regular voice on Nickelodeon’s CatDog and Back at the Barnyard (in which she reprised the role of “Mrs. Beady” from the hit feature animation, Barnyard).

Maria’s writing has been featured in The Onion, The Melbourne Age, and LA Weekly.  Her popular CDs include The Burning Bridges Tour, How to Win, and Unwanted Thoughts Syndrome.    She also created and starred in The Maria Bamford Show, a unique 20 webisode series for Turner’s Superdeluxe that has taken on a cult status afterlife on YouTube.   She can currently be seen performing in her living room for her parents on the Chill.com direct-to-fans event, Maria Bamford: The special special special!
